ABOUT ONELAB

History

In 2012, the President instructed the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to initiate the harmonization of testing laboratories in the country. The challenge at that time was to establish a framework that will address issues on harmonization, collaboration, and interfacing among laboratories while respecting their mandates and regulatory functions. This brought about the establishment of a laboratory network known as the “One-stop Laboratory Services for Global Competitiveness (OneLab).

What is OneLab?

The OneLab project is DOST’s platform that comprehensively provides an avenue for customers to meet their testing needs at a single touch point.

This includes chemical, physical, microbiological, radiological testing and calibration of water, waste water, food, wood, furniture, textile, paper, metals, and electronic products.

OneLab envisions to broaden public access to testing services of all DOST laboratories and other OneLab member laboratories, provide standardized services and fees, and to provide timely and accurate test and calibration results.

Mission

To provide global access and comprehensive analytical and calibration services at a single touch point.

Vision

To be globally-recognized network of analytical and calibration laboratories distinguished for quality, proficient services and ultimate customer convenience.

Objectives

1. Extensive customer requirements met to satisfaction.

2. Financially secured operations of the OneLab network.

3. Internationally recognized network of engaged, competent and proficient laboratories.

4. Processes at par with international standards, compliant with good governance requirements and with robust and secured IT system.

How OneLab works?

The OneLab project has a Referral System that spare customers from shuttling from one laboratory to another.

Watch the video for more details.

Heres how it works:

Step 1: Submit your sample(s) to the nearest DOST Labs or any OneLab member laboratories.

Step 2: The receiving officer checks the system for a lab that can best process your request if the receiving lab cannot.

Step 3: Your sample is sent to the appropriate lab.

Step 4: The testing lab conducts the necessary tests or calibrations and uploads the results to the receiving lab.

Step 5: Claim your results personally or have them sent to you via your preferred method: Email or Fax.

If you think about it, there's only one step you need to remember and that's Step 1, submit your sample and leave the rest to us.
