Happening Now: OneLab RnD Forum

The day 1 of the 2- day OneLab R&D Forum has kick started today, 28 March 2022. Present in the event are the project leaders, Ms. Rosemarie S. Salazar and Dr. Annabelle V. Briones who delivered the opening remarks and overview of the OneLab Network, respectively.

DOST Undersecretary, Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang was also present and emphasized the Importance of Research and Development at the countryside for the Economic Progress. “A progressive countryside is the key to achieving national progress and economic development; hence, the implementation of the science for change program – our goal is to accelerate countryside development through science, technology and innovation. Each region has unique characteristics, have different resources which can be tapped to stimulate industry sector development, have different priority industries and therefore different STI needs to be addressed.”

The DOST Regional Operations are now looking at the new direction of the DOST Regional Offices – from being facilitators, coordinators and S&T support provider to eventually implementing or managing R&D funds also for smaller projects or shop-floor R&D activities at the start.
